Anna von Rosenstiel is the founder and creative mind behind Carter + Rose, a ceramic studio in Portland, Oregon. Anna’s inspiration as a designer comes from the beauty of simplicity. She believes that unique design adds to the story and character of your home. Initially envisioned from scraps of clay, the wall planter and ceramic snake were born out of a desire to create a product with a focus on simple, handmade lines. 

Anna’s gallery work is inspired by the organic shapes and repeating patterns of nature. Pressing clay into natural objects and hand building textured ceramic forms, she loves to capture the beauty of the smallest details within an ever-changing landscape. Her focus is on cast away objects, washed and wind blown, harsh and soft, existing together, even if just for a moment. The impermanence of these natural relationships creates constant newness: change, again and again, in small details and in the big picture. 

Anna's work attempts to capture the cyclical relationship of this change and repetition, inviting these elements into your home.
